design by Cristina Celestino
The theme of illusion is a protagonist in the theatrical experience of the Italian Baroque: fiction and art meet on stage to create wonder and surprise. Some of the most exceptional exponents were the Galli da Bibbiena family, who worked in the region of Mantua in the 1600s and 1700s, precisely in the vicinity of Fornace Brioni.
Taking her cue from this background of Baroque architecture and its motifs, Cristina Celestino has developed a process of deeper abstraction, creating a collection of evocative contemporary flooring, cladding and partitions. Concave and convex tableaux, empirical perspectives and tactile perceptions combine in the personality of this collection.
